Rabobank

Consumer branch interiors for Holland’s second–largest consumer bank.

New interiors have been designed for Rabobank, the second largest high street bank in Holland. The interiors program redefines the visual language of consumer branches by providing customers with a consistent brand experience that differentiates Rabobank from its competitors, enabling the bank to maintain a strong, competitive presence within their retail oriented, high street context.

Natural light, oversized graphics and an open design give the branches a friendly feel.

The new design language is flexible enough to be consistent across all of Rabobank’s formats. Full–height frameless glazing provides passers–by with clear views of the open, generous interior volumes, creating a friendlier, livelier customer experience. Large scale graphics and dramatic lighting energize the space. Semi–enclosed consultancy stations replace traditionally enclosed meeting areas, while ATMs replace tellers.

Approachable Advice Centers.

The design enables the three–dimensional communication of the Rabobank brand across three main formats: the Advice Center, Mini Advice Center and the Rabobank shop–in–shop. The Advice Center is the fullest expression of the brand, with a waiting area that has been scaled up into a customer destination/service space. The Mini Advice Center is a distillation of the constituent parts of the flagship Advice Center, while the Rabobank shop–in–shop is an entirely new concept: compact, relatively informal and representative of the more populist aspects of the brand.

The initial ten–store pilot program proved successful, and the scheme is subsequently rolling–out across Rabobank’s 1,500 nationwide branches.
